Lumpkin Fire/EMS History

While the history of firefighting dates back around 2000 years , the fire service in Lumpkin County is first found in 1845. Since then service has been sporadic until the later part of the 20th century when a fire department was established and took root and has since grown into a full service fire and EMS combination department. If you have any bit of department history to add such as events, stories or photos please let us know. Before information was compiled here, there really was no organized history of the department and history is something once lost is gone forever.
